KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Valerie Hamaker has a Master’s Degree in counseling with special training in couples and family counseling with many years of experience and expertise in the treatment of trauma. Valerie is a Nationally Certified Counselor, a certified Sex Addictions Treatment Provider and a Certified Play Therapist. She also has a second Master’s degree from UMKC and a Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University.

Until recently, Valerie operated a thriving marriage and family counseling private practice called All About Attachment, LLC where she worked with individuals and couples in all life stages, weaving elements of emotional, spiritual, mental, and relationship wellness into my clinical work.

In 2022 she launched the podcast "Latter Day Struggles" in an effort to reach people from her own Latter-day Saint faith who were struggling with crisis of faith and trust and immediately saw that this population of people needed exactly what she had been trained to do--help individuals, couples, and families become strong, authentic, human beings deeply connected with goodness, truth, and love.

Valerie's platform has grown to include ongoing support groups, a growing webinar series on healing from the trauma of faith crisis, and a private consulting practice. Valerie frequent collaborates with other mental health workers, scholars, and and theologians in her work, striving to heal individuals and families in and around the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Valerie is passionate about gender issues, social justice issues, and the intersection between psychology, spirituality, culture, and systemic wellness.
